VIII Latvian Youth Olympics closed

Solemnly closed VIII Latvian Youth Olympics that gathered 2800 athletes from 77 major cities and municipalities of Latvia. Athletes from city of Jelgava successfuly participated and won 60 medals – 16 gold, 21 silver and 23 bronz, thereby ranked 3rd in overall medal ranking. Read more

VIII Latvian Youth Olympics will take place from 5 th to 7 th of July in Jelgava, bringing together around 3000 young athletes who will participate in 29 disciplines. Viewing tower on the Palace Island

A wooden viewing tower with a well-equipped picnic place in Jelgava, Palace Island, was formed in the summer of 2018. It is intended for observation of the wild horses, birds, two rivers and city panorama in the floodland meadows of the river Lielupe, which is a protected nature territory. Read more
