For the 14th year in a row, the Latvian Employers’ Confederation (LDDK) and the career portal Prakse.lv have been creating the TOP of the most recommended study programs and educational institutions by employers, which provides school graduates with an insight into where to study their chosen profession. This year, the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU) in Jelgava has been named the 4th most recommended university by employers. A total of 2,710 employers shared their views.

According to the compiled data, Riga Technical University remains the top-ranked institution, followed by the University of Latvia, the Business School “Turība”, and LBTU. The top five is completed by the BA School of Business and Finance.
LBTU received 303 employer recommendations in total. Among bachelor-level programs, the most frequently recommended were:
- Professional Bachelor’s program in Construction (34 recommendations),
- Professional Bachelor’s program in Food Product Technology (29),
- Second-cycle Professional program in Veterinary Medicine (20),
- Academic Bachelor’s program in Computer Control and Computer Science (18),
- Professional Bachelor’s program in Machine Design and Manufacturing (14),
- Academic Bachelor’s program in Food Quality and Innovations (14),
- Professional Bachelor’s program in Agriculture (13),
- Professional Bachelor’s program in Wood Processing (10).
At the master’s level, the most recommended LBTU programs include:
- Academic Master’s program in Information Technology,
- Academic Master’s program in Agriculture,
- Academic Master’s program in Food Science,
- Professional Master’s program in Project Management,
- Professional Master’s program in Business Management,
- Academic Master’s program in Environmental, Water and Land Engineering.
Similar results were also found in the survey last year, reflecting the steady trust of employers in these academic programs.
