National Guard military drills to take place in the city this week; low-flying aircraft expected over Jelgava

From May 28 to 30, joint training exercises of the 52nd Combat Support Battalion of the National Guard’s 4th Kurzeme Brigade will take place in Jelgava, in cooperation with the State Emergency Medical Service and LLC “Jelgavas pilsētas slimnīca” (Jelgava City Hospital). Residents should note that during the training, low-flying flights of allied forces’ aircraft are possible over Jelgava.

The aim of the training is to strengthen mutual cooperation, coordination, and readiness for action in various crisis situations, improving the services’ ability to work effectively as a unified team.

The National Guard emphasizes that the drills will be organized in a way that does not disrupt the Jelgava City Festival events or the daily lives of residents.

The 52nd Combat Support Battalion of the National Guard wishes Jelgava a beautiful, safe, and patriotically fulfilling City Festival!

To apply for service in the 52nd Combat Support Battalion of the National Guard’s 4th Kurzeme Brigade, residents of the state city of Jelgava and the surrounding municipality are invited to call 25424404, email 52bn@mil.lv, or visit the unit in person in Jelgava at 22 Dambja Street.
